This is a stellar and elegant hat from Italy in the 1950s. It would be a dream to wear this - unfortunately it does not fit me!

Details

Inside of hat is stamped Cavalier - Made in Italy
Black velvet/felt with excellent original thick black mesh veil. This can be worn with various styles - veil down, to the side, up, partially covering eyes, etc.
Has original bakelite hat clips inside (looks like one was slightly chipped at the top but does not defeat the use of the clips. It's 80 years old

Sizing

The fabric does has a bit of stretch so I suggest maximum S. 21 1/2 hat size. See diagram
5 inches or 12.8 cm in height
Veil covering can be up to 12 inches or 30.48 cm
21.75 inches or 55.24 in top of head width
Hat sizes: 21 1/8 to 21.5 inches around crown of head.
